Mohave Desert Colors

Oh, I absolutely love this idea!

Since working on Mohave Desert Kingcups, which came about because I decided to use the yarn for another purpose, I thought it would be fun to just design in colors that reflect the Mohave Desert.  So I gathered some images of the Mohave Desert on Bing.  Then I went to Paint and slurped up some colors.  Then I went to Knitting Warehouse to collect some yarns that I can actually buy online at Walmart.  Then I went to Ravelry and looked to see if any weaving projects used the yarn.  Then I looked to see how the warp was set, and what yarns were used for weft.  And so we have dishtowels in Bernat Handicrafter Crochet Thread Ombres with Aunt Lydia's Bamboo in regular and iced.

The weaver used the ombre doubled set at 12 epi and used the iced bamboo for the weft, different colors, though.  I thought it would be fun to warp a longer warp and try different color wefts.  So here's the lot of #3 Aunt Lydia's Crochet Thread.

And Aunt Lydia's had an ombre that might work also:

And they are all smashing colors for doilies, too and there is a group on Ravelry for Doilie Heads and gobs of patterns.

The End
